Five Unexpected life lessons from a class or hobby.

In my first year of Marching Band I learned five life lessons, sunblock, I sweat, sensitive eyes, don't be cocky, and I need to be more confident in life. The first being that my skin does actually burn after being in the sun for a long time. For years I would go out with out sunscreen because I did not burn that fast. But I learned from band camp that I will burn and my school pictures will look like crap. Another Life lesson I learned is that no matter what sport I do (yes marching band is a sport) I will want to bring a fresh pair of clothes and/or sandles because i apparently sweat a lot! In band you are not allowed to wear sandles, causing your feet to get sweaty and gross, not to mention all your clothes will be saturated in sweat by the end of the day. So Fresh clothes is good to have. A third life lesson I learned is that my eyes are sensitive and I need to bring sunglasses with me where ever I go. My eyes hurt after being in the bright sun, and sunglasses are their saviors. The fourth life lesson I learned is to not pretend you are too cool for something, when in reality, everyone is being a dork so you are the outcast and everyone will think you are one of those annoying cocky kids and hate you for the rest of the day. The fifth and final lesson I learned in Marching band camp is that you can not be shy! If you are shy and not willing to put your hardest into what you are doing, you will not only stand out, but you will continue to learn things the shy way, which is usually the wrong way because you do everything more slowely then everyone else because you are unsure of yourself.

Today I must say, was a lot better, for one I feel better. Orchestra winds was a fail, but still a lot of fun. My friend brought me food which made me happy. But other than that, it was a pretty relax day.
Tomorrow should still be relaxed but I have horn lessons, hopefully that will be good. and then Friday we get to march in another parade which should be a lot of fun!

Homework: CW blog

I arrive early, but everyone is still there in a rush to get to the community center, because our teacher always says;
"To be early is to be on time, To be on time is to be late, and to be late is to be scared."
All 250+ stuffed in the basement, scrabbling to get their green and white uniforms on for marching band. Today is the day we march in the State fair parade on the hot humid Saturday afternoon. As fast as we are getting ready, we load onto the yellow school bus like cattle; even more crammed than we were in the basement, on the bus, we are off to the state fair. Two hours early we wait impaciently unable to sit in fear of the dirt turning out white uniforms brown. The hot sun beating down on us, turning our wool uniforms into saunas.
Finally we start to line up, early of course. We wait another 30 minutes. Adrenaline is pumping into our veins, we get anxious and exciited, some even scared because we know we are about to start.
And we are off! So many things going through our minds; Stay in step, address center, watch the drum majors, remember the music, watch out for poop, remember the chants, don't forget the moves, and BREATHE!
Before we know it, it's all over. We are all cheering and sweat dripping off our hair and necks. We stampeed the water stands with greedy thirst.
We are done, and now we get to enjoy the rest of the day at the state fair.

Two things I have to say is 1. Wow I have 100 posts. and 2. I'm using this blog for homework again. So hopefully all you that are not reading this does not mind..

I didn't go to school today... I should have toughened it out. But resting felt good.

Here is a short post, I don't really know what happened today, was kind of out of it because I am sick.. how annoying. It is my last day on the pill, so hurray, except that I don't think it did anything. So what a waste.
Concert music all week which is nice. Then marching band practice tomorrow night. whoopie

It was a good day today, the movie was really good and is worth seeing. I spent most of the day with my friend.

I forgot to tell you

The funniest thing happened, okay so probably not the funniest, but it was pretty hilarious to see.
So, there is this squirrel hanging upside down on my bird feeder getting seeds out of the bird holes, it's turned away from me. So I decide to run at it and it took it like 5 seconds to process after I was like a foot away that I was coming at it, so it had no way to get down fast, so it just leaped off as far as it could go. It was a pretty funny site. Thats what it gets for destroying 3 bird feeders...

A good day

Today was a fun filled day, went out with a friend and had a lot of fun with her as usual.
Tomorrow I get to hang out with another friend, we are going to see the movie "The town," hopefully it will be good.
Not too much to report today.
The only bad news is that I am feeling under the weather, my throat hurts and i'm tired. Hopefully I'll be fine by tomorrow.

These pills suck..

I just finished the pills that I started out with, but these ones just makes your mouth taste like garbage. It's awful and completely annoying, there is nothing you can do to get rid of it except eat It's driving me nuts!
enough of that though, tomorrow is the first marching band performance, Yay for football games!
It's sad though, there are only two football games to march at this year!

Was a great day...

Today was a good day for the most part, Orchestra winds was exciting, we played symphony No. 5 and Phantom of the Opera. I must say; those songs are fun to play! Then my friend brought me Mcy D's for lunch because Orchestra takes up my lunch time. That was yummy.
But then my good day was ruined when something of mine broke, it was special.. It made my day go down the tube.. It seems that a lot of my things that are special either break, get lost, or get stolen. It kind of sucks.
So to cheer myself up, I am ODing on M&M's and getting drunk off of milk, because they are yummy.

Well...

Well I don't think i epically failed my test, which is a plus. A different bit of homework is complicated, I get it but can't get the right answer? Does that mean that I am dumb by thinking I know how to do it? ... Well poo..
Marching band practice today. Was fun.. except for the fact that I forgot a jacket and it was frickin' cold out. 4 hours of that!
Also I have more new news! I got my new pills, which are wonderfully smaller... but (always a but) they have wonderful side effects whether you eat or don't eat with them; Appetite loss, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, metallic taste, nausea, stomach upset, and vomiting. I have to take that pill 4 times a day on top of the horse pill, which I have to eat with otherwise I will either get diarrhea, Nausea, or throw chunks, twice a day. I can't wait to be done with all them pills. Yuck.
Now, on the upside, I start Orchestra winds tomorrow, which should be fun, but I am scared.
Hopefully I will do well.

Better Day, but..

Today was a LOT better then yesterday, thats for sure. I was just not in the mood to be around a lot of people though.
I might be getting new pills. I can't wait until everything is better, I am hating my mouth. Tomorrow there is a wonderful test, and even though I have been studying for like 6 hours, I still don't feel ready. I really don't want to screw up my first test, not the way I want to start the year.

With the nasty pills I have to take.. I don't think my mouth is getting any better. in fact it almost feels worse and it just aches sooo much uggghhh.. I guess I used them too much and now they are just helping it get stronger.. I might need different pills..
How many of you think it's going to have to get pulled in the long run?

An interesting day

So I got up early to help my friend clean his garage, and we got it so that it can almost fit another car in there, so that is pretty satisfying. Then after that I went with him to a car dealer and he got a car! It's a real nice one too. I would also say it is very well deserved. Plus I got to drive it.. but we keep quiet with that one. Then he had to go and shoot a wedding. So I rented a movie, Letters to Juliet, which is an adorable movie. While I was watching it I decided to do a little sewing and made some skanky skin tight top, mini skirt, and a dress. Don't ask me why, but I did. I just wish it was black fabric, but I didn't have any of that, so I used a dark purple.
Well that was pretty much my day,

But on the plus side..

I didn't tell you about yesterday in band, the band department got 4 new conn French horns 7 hornists in my class (a lot more in the others) and I got one of them. Also! I am not second to last chair. woooo okay so maybe I am 3rd, but thats the part I wanted to be, most often similar to first horn but with out solos, second chair seems to get the most solos, and then fourth part is just lower and like the second part but with out the solos.
So there is the good news.

Ugh

So today I got up at 6:something AM to get to the dentist by 6:50am for my appointment.
To get you filled in I have had this dead tooth that has been dead for like 2 years and in.. I want to say February it started to give me this crap load of pain so I get it checked out and it ends up being dead and so my dentist starts doing a root canal but had to stop half way because his drills were not big enough for the tooth's abnormally large canal. And so he temporarily seals it up and sends me to a different dentist, mean while during that week, maybe longer it starts to get infected even more and my gum underneath my tooth starts swelling up even more making my face in a lot of pain, so my new dentist gives me these horse pills that if I do not eat i will either have diarrhea, vomit, or become nauseous for like 2 weeks twice a day. But then I find out that my insurance won't cover the root canal so I have to try to wait as long as april to actually have it because I would be covered again. only it gets infected again. And so I have to do it, costing a butt-load of money. Then it got infected again, AFTER the root canal, so he gives me more of those horse pills and then sends me on my way. Now it happened again and I got more of those pills, and now he is thinking we are going to have to pull the tooth. Wonderful right? All that trouble to try to save the tooth and now we might have to get it pulled. How delightful, right?
Oh well, I'll let you know how that goes.
Other than that, pretty crappy day, been feeling sick, and on top of that I swear the pills make me depressed. It's annoying.

I realize...

That I haven't told you about my weekend.
Okay so, the test.. Well it went better than the first time I took it, but it still felt iffy. Hopefully I did better though. Although I always feel stupid because everyone talks about how they got such and such and did sooo bad and I'm sitting there going .. Well I would love that score... Oh well.. I am just not as smart as some people.
But after the test I went out with some friends and did some more pictures, which from what I can see they turned out really well. I wish I could show you but I won't.
Then after the photos I went out with another friend and got unhealthy food and then went and saw "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" which I would recommend, because it is AMAZING.
The next day, Sunday I got to drive to see my Grandparents, which I haven't seen for a while 'cause they are moving around in an RV (which is pretty awesome). It was good to see them and their little dogs too!
Well that was my full weekend,

How many times have I used that title before? "Yay!" burst with happines (I can not figure out how to spell that word! ARGH!) Anyways to get on to the point of this, First week of school done, was a pretty good week I'd say. Right now I am in a Starbucks with a couple friends of mine and I am studying for a nasty test on Saturday, it's a Friday and I have to study, so not fair. After the test tomorrow I will be getting some photos taken of me with another friend. Then on Sunday I get to visit my grandparents how have decided to travel the country in an RV trailer, which I must say is pretty exciting. But it's a little bit of a drive to get to where they are, but thats okay because the way there is a beautiful drive, and where they are staying is even more beautiful. Full weekend I'd say, but should be fun.. minus the test..

I'm so creative, right? That title is so original.. not har har har... Well hopefully my wonderful creative writing class will fix that.
School is going well, so far at least.. Possibly a band trip that is international, that would be exciting if it gets a go! We find out Tuesday, so I'll be sure to let you know.
I've realized how much the weather is changing when I woke up for school, it was so cold! I'm going to have to start wearing warmer clothes to sleep now. It makes me miss the wonderful summer, but at least it won't be hard falling asleep from really hot weather.

Sad news.

I'll give you the decent news first, First day of school done, was good. But thats usually the first day of school.

Sad news: They had to put the duck down

"We regret to inform you that the mallard duck you brought to us was unable to be rehabilitated. The vets found taht it had an open fracture to the left major metacarpal bone (wing bone) that could not be surgically repaired. The vets humanely euthaized the mallard to end its suffering."

Yay!

Okay so I know I haven't posted for a couple days now.. been getting kind of lazy so, here is an update:
Marching band is over and it was a blast, marching in the state fair was a blast also/going to the state fair.
Afterwards I went on a small trip with my mom which was fun because there was no one to bug us.
Then the rest of the week has been slow and boring except for the fact that yesterday I got to get my hair done finally, purple highlights.. it's quite awesome if I may say for myself and it is all because of my bestest friend so thanks goes to him big time.
And finally for today, my friend and I saved a duck! I saw it in my neighbors yard and I thought it was odd that this duck was sitting alone in the grass in the cold, so I walked closer and it tried to fly away only it couldn't and when it's wing flapped I saw blood so my friend and I chased it and cornered it and I threw my jacket onto it, she had fun pooping and bleeding on it, but all for a good cause, hopefully most of it washes out. Poor thing was scared to death, only thankfully it didn't die from that.. My friend had to go to work but his mom, sister, and I went and took it to a wildlife refuge place that helps injured/sick wild animals. So it's cool they will give me an update hopefully soon, and then I'll let you all know!
